The little things matter

When life is zooming by, the only thing you can do to hang on is notice the little things.

Yesterday I was working in my studio, the sun streaming through the windows making the crystals I have hanging refract rainbows all over the walls.

This morning I woke up to find a tiny yellow butterfly in my bathroom.

Now it is snowing. Snow all night and all day tomorrow. I love waking up to new snow.

My life is a mad scramble. I don’t think it’s going to change anytime soon, but as long as I can cling to all the tiny joys that fill the day I know I’ll be alright.

  1. I’ve been a reader since the start of your blog, having found you by way of your sister and her photodocumentary of the life of Charlie, but never take the time to comment. Your post today, however, held a special resonance in what can be a mad, mad world – you seem to have a way of reminding me to be grateful for what is, and not what isn’t and I admire the sense of joy and optimism you bring to being a blogger as well as to the paper-based art you create. Thanks too for all of the other amazing artists and their work that you regularly highlight on your blog.

  2. I have to agree with you. Everything is so hurry hurry and nonstop in my life right now. And those sweet sweet things that make it into your day like the baby elk and mama that crossed my path today.
