I am the black sheep in a family of artists, leaving the herd to get a doctorate in ecology. However, I cannot resist my genetic predisposition to create and now I stand at the intersection of art and science. I am currently exploring how an understanding of ecological processes can change one's perception of the world and contribute to artistic expression, and simultaneously how art can be used to communicate complex ideas and make science more accessible. My academic study of how plants and soils interact has forced me to be comfortable looking at tiny details and exploring how they combine to form the landscapes we interact with. I live in Bozeman, MT with my family of two- and four-legged critters. This blog is a catalog of my adventures, my thoughts and my work. Thanks for visiting!
